The Business Problem

IT organizations need a tool to quickly identify causes of system performance problems. When end-user problems pop up, such as when Insight:SLM detects SLA shortfalls or customers complain about delays, IT must find and correct the problem quickly. Manually reviewing component-level data is time-consuming and often fails to locate the root-cause of the problem.

The Insight:Analyzer Solution

Insight:Analyzer is a diagnostic tool that allows IT personnel to pinpoint the location of performance delays in actual end-user transaction flows across any mixture of IT systems – PCs, networks, servers, mainframes, databases, etc. Unlike many other products, Insight:Analyzer can diagnose problems in applications, as well as hardware and network components.

How It Works

To begin a diagnosis, a temporary transaction profile is defined with Insight:Analyzer. A transaction response time monitor (tMonitor) is placed in the transaction stream to record performance data. Insight:Analyzer’s software identifies the particular step in the process where the delay is occurring, allowing IT personnel to quickly correct the problem. Several proprietary diagnostic tools are included to simplify and speed the analysis process.
